The Update on Instagram's Update
For anyone working in social media or customer service, Christmas has come early this year. Instagram has upgraded again, and it is something we have all been anticipating since the news of Facebook’s ownership: you can now like and reply to a user’s comment. Here are a few of the reasons why we love the new update.
1. Increase Communication
Though this feature is very Facebook-like, we must admit it creates a more communicative environment; especially for businesses. If a customer responds to a photo, not only can you reply to them quicker, but you can show you appreciate their engagement as well by liking it.
With these actions, businesses are able to denounce the past intimidation users would have with interacting, and now communicate their friendly and approachable demeanor easier.
2. Increase Engagement
Not only is there a chance of being replied to by a business, celebrity, etc., but now you can have your comment liked too! Because of this, we would not be surprised to see a huge increase in engagement on the social media platform. Users respond very positively when brands respond to their engagement.Now there are two ways brands can engage with their users, and they are both easier to do than ever.
3. Optimize Customer Service
We must admit, there are a few usernames even we cannot tell how their names are spelled. Now, with the “reply” button, the username of the person who commented into the comment box. This is one of my personal favorite features because it makes replying to users fast and easy. We know 100% we are responding and leaving a personal message to the correct person instead of accidentally putting the wrong character and tagging someone else with a similar name.
The new updates on Instagram are the best early Christmas gift an Account Coordinator or anyone working in customer service could ask for.
