The Importance of Quality Photographs
Everyone knows the importance of a business's online presence . Websites, apps, and social media platforms have evolved the way we learn, connect, and do business. We create content and with a tap or click share it with everyone.
Though there are no real "rules" when posting on social media, there is a pressure to sacrifice quality in an attempt to update quickly and share often. People want to be noticed and remembered, but may be sending the entirely wrong message when pairing our words with inconsistent images. Unprofessional and low quality pictures have no place on a professional website or business's social media feed. Not only do they fail to entice and inspire, they tell our viewers that we haven't put a lot of thought into what we are doing. In order to ensure your images say what you want them to, consider the following questions.
Are my images updated and accurate?
If you updated your website to include new employees or products make sure this is also shown in your pictures. If it hasn't been done within the last 3-6 months, we highly suggest having it done. If you need assistance, The Burnette Agency offers photography, web design, and many more creative services!
Do they make sense?
A home decor business would not post a picture of the pizza they ate for lunch. Saying that, make sure it is easy to understand what the photo is. A close up of a small product part may look artistic but also be confusing to the the viewer. If there are people in the photo it should be easy to understand what they are doing. Images of subjects completely unrelated to your market should be used infrequently, if at all.
Are they professional?
Photos used in business should be properly exposed and in focus. There are some situations in which a picture taken on your phone is usable and other’s where you will want to employ a professional. Low light, artificial light, and images taken mid-day, when the sun casts unappealing shadows, are a few examples of times you may need to hire a professional such as The Burnette Agency. With an in-house photographer, we have the training and equipment to handle these obstacles.
With these questions in mind, evaluate the content you currently publish and evaluate whether your business could use help.
