Mind Blowing Pinterest Data
Pinterest is mind blowing. The incredible growth of the platform with more than 150 million monthly active users and it’s continued benefits for brands and consumers is both encouraging and exciting.
A recent study came out that talked about so many different components of Pinterest and it’s ever growing influence on consumers.
It’s no surprise one in two millennials use Pinterest. This social platform is easy to search, has content that is easy to save and is useful when you want to go back to recall information. People that use the Pinterest are two times more likely to say their time is well spent than they are for any other platform. A part of this probably has to do with the statistic that 84% of people say that Pinterest helps them to learn new things!
Unlike it’s social media cousins (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), Pinterest is a place where people can easily pick up tips, tricks, how-to’s and more for almost any topic.
But from a consumer standpoint, Pinterest is a gold mine.
67% of people look at saved Pinterest content while they are actually shopping in stores. If you are a retailer and you are not on Pinterest, you are missing out on the 67% of people going back to their Pinterest page to pull ideas for what to buy when they are out! This statistic alone, should make you want to get your company on Pinterest.
Even more so than the amount of people that refer to Pinterest is the amount of both men and women that are on the platform. 68% of US women aged 24 - 54 use Pinterest while 40% of new users are men. The gender gap is closing and both sexes are finding a way to positively and effectively use Pinterest to their advantage. To further support this claim, 7 in 10 US Moms and 1 in 3 Dads US Dads use Pinterest!
If you have an online store, sell products people can use, or teach people how to do new things through digital imagery, blogs or videos, Pinterest is a platform that cannot be ignored. Too many people are on the platform and there is so much opportunity and room for growth. Challenging yourself and stepping outside of the box is what helps to create even more success in your marketing efforts.
If you don’t take the time to make sure people can easily access your information and see it in more than one place, how do you suppose you will build a stronger brand.
