Trending: Disappearing Content
When snapchat first rolled out, it was apparent that this trend of disappearing content was popular amongst the younger generations. With more than 150 million daily active followers, it is safe to say this popular concept is starting to open up doors for companies to implement even more strategy into their social media campaigns.
Though snapchat may still be a bit of a puzzle for brands, and the marketers that come up with ideas to integrate the platform, the introduction of Instagram stories is perfect for brands that have already created a strong following and want to share special stories, deals, how-to’s and more with their fans. The implementation of strong visuals, short clips and videos to engage customers is imperative in this day and age. People want to feel connected and understand how they can benefit from following you whether it’s learning how to save 15% or how to create an easy DIY project.
While big brands may be able to afford space on the snapchat news feeds, we encourage brands with smaller budgets to create filters around their area to engage potential customers to follow and engage with you. If not, Instagram is such a great place for businesses. Since you already have a built in following from those that follow on your personal page, getting people to tune in on Instagram is already that much easier. We love both platforms but with varying budgets, it’s sometimes nice to get in where you fit in before breaking the bank to be a part of a trend!
In 2017 and beyond, we are sure to see many brands both big and small figure out how to incorporate expiring social media content into their strategy and create a more interactive experience with their following.
