How to use Twitter Media Studio to Improve your Video Marketing
Curious how to get more views for your Twitter videos? In this article, you’ll learn how to improve the performance of videos you upload on Twitter through Twitter Media Studio.
What is Twitter Media Studio?
Twitter Media Studio (TMS) can enhance the videos you tweet with add-ons like catchy titles, text-captions, thumbnail images and more - all before sharing your video with your Twitter followers.
Keep in mind: Twitter Media Studio is designed for users who advertise on Twitter, so to access Media Studio, you need to be a part of the Amplify Publisher Program (only members of this program receive an invitation to Media Studio).
#1: Upload Video to Twitter Media Studio
To start using TMS, visit the main studio library. This is where you will see all of your previously uploaded media content and have the option to upload new videos. Keep in mind Twitter has its own specifications for uploading videos (mobile upload and regular desktop specifications are different). Twitter recommends a resolution of 1280 x 720. The best resolution for square videos are 720 x 720. The typical video length is 2 minutes and 20 seconds, which is 140 seconds. Click the upload option in the upper right corner and choose the video you want to upload from your computer hard drive. When you’ve made your selection, the upload will automatically begin.
#2: Choose an Eye-Catching Video Thumbnail and Title
Setting a thumbnail allows you to choose the most engaging image that will grab your followers’ attention while they scroll through your Twitter feed. Here are some tips that can help your thumbnail stand out:
To make your image pop, use contrasting colors and layer it over a blurred background.
Adding small amounts of text in the thumbnail displays the value the video offers viewers. Make sure the text doesn’t overshadow the image.
To choose a thumbnail, click the change thumbnail option. You can upload an image saved from your computer or choose a frame from the video.
To add a title and description, click the video in the media library and open the settings tab; type your title and description in the appropriate text boxes.
#3: Schedule or Share Your Video Tweet
You can tweet the video directly from your media library. Click the blue Tweet button in the lower right corner of the video you want to tweet, write the text, and then click the Tweet button. To schedule a tweet, click the button in the lower left of the video, write the text, and choose the schedule option. Select a date and time to publish, and click Tweet so your content is published at a predetermined time.
