Are You Getting Temporarily Blocked On Instagram?
Lately, Instagram has been blocking users from certain actions like leaving comments, liking photos, and following accounts. You may be wondering why this is happening to your account. This started happening to our business account when we were manually taking certain actions. The reason why Instagram is doing this is to identify and regulate the use of bots and reduce spam but many innocent users have been temporarily flagged by engaging in penalized acts by Instagram. Instagram's community guidelines state they want to foster meaningful and genuine interactions. It reads “Help us stay spam-free by not artificially collecting likes, followers, or shares, posting repetitive comments or content, or repeatedly contacting people for commercial purposes without their consent.”
We understand the need for Instagram to restrict bots and ghost accounts from taking actions that are not authentic. It’s becoming more common for accounts to receive a temporary block even when using manual growth tactics. This increased sensitivity is being more and more talked about as it happens to other businesses and personal accounts. Instagram’s restrictions varying for larger accounts and newer accounts. The restrictions have recently shifted from hourly limitations to daily actions. Most accounts can follow, unfollow or take certain actions on their account per day. If an account is much larger and well known then these restrictions are not as limiting. Although not yet confirmed, it appears as if actions are limited to a certain number overall per month. Around 200 actions per day and 6000 actions per month seem to be what most accounts are experiencing.
Why This Matters
These new restrictions matter to not only professional accounts but personal accounts currently implementing a growth strategy. So what strategy should you take to get around the annoying and inevitable temporary block? Take the end of the month easy. When it comes to taking action on your account at the end of the month you may want to dedicate this time to messages and comments. Do your following and unfollowing at the beginning of the month while your number of actions is not yet depleted. This way, you won't get that unexpected block amid your activity. If you are blocked, don’t fret. It is usually not long. Once your block is over you should resume using your account at a reduced speed.
