Social media is not a self-centered platform for you to only discuss yourself or your brand. Yes, Millennials and Generation Z are big into taking selfies and displaying their every move, but brands don’t need to take the approach of their young audiences. Beating people over the head with the same sale every day or the same list of services isn’t going to generate sales or interaction.
Here are three simple ways to quickly turn your brand from a self-serving monologue into a dialogue worthy of pulling in customer interaction.
Ask Questions
People like to feel like they are the experts on topics or like their ideas are being heard. If you can ask questions that are compelling to the audience you can quickly gain interaction. Content with questions performs two to three times higher than content that is strictly telling your audience about your brand services or products.
Reply To Comments
Never miss out on an opportunity to converse with your audience. If they know you are interested in what they have to say they will be more likely to come back and comment on your posts. People don’t want to just feel like they are being talked at. They want to know there are real people behind the brand. You don’t have to reply to every comment on every post but make sure that you carve out time let your followers know you are listening to what they have to say.
Share Engaging Content
Share content that your readers will enjoy. This seems like a no brainer but so many people share content that their readers could care less about. Post different types of content, monitor the engagement and then replicate what gets the most interaction. The more you engage people with content they care about, the better your ROI will be because you will know what your customers are looking for.
