Does this look like a typical work day for you?
Then you may work in a social media and public relations agency like The Burnette Agency. If not, discover what it’s like to be an account coordinator (if you are one you can relate), and why we love ours so much!
1.You’re basically Yelp
Does your friend want a unique art piece to go on her wall? You know where to go. Your brother needs a new pair of shoes? You know which store has the ones he’ll love. How do you know all of this? Because they are your clients. Meeting and working with different businesses regularly allows you to get very familiar with their brand and products. This makes you your friends and family’s personal guide to Atlanta, Tampa, wherever your clients may be!
2. You’re a jack of all trades (and a master of all too)
Because Account Coordinators at The Burnette Agency are the next people who love our client’s business as much as they do, we live, breath and eat any industry they’re a part of. Though we may not have gone to school for interior design, fashion, or possess any culinary skills whatsoever, we understand the process and passion for these professions enough that we might as well have an honorary degree in it.
Not only does learning this make for great small-talk at parties, but overall helps with the communications strategies put in place for clients. We can spot exactly what kind of shoes a person is wearing on the street because we know they’ve been predicted to be 2017’s hot seller and our client is receiving a shipment of them next week. And we are so excited to find out Pantone’s color for 2017 because we know customers will flood our client’s store for fabric matching Greenery 15-0343.
3.You’re great at meeting deadlines
This afternoon. Tomorrow. Next month. No matter the deadline, you know you have an amazing team behind you that will not only meet the deadline but execute it flawlessly.
4. You wear a million hats
Maybe not literally, but you know what we mean.
Working in social media and public relations involves a lot of moving parts, especially when you’re managing more than one client at a time. Your work can include promoting products for a client looking to boost their sales, pitching to the press for another client, even some photography or graphic design could be needed… all in the same day.
In short, being an Account Coordinator is much more than posting on social media.
5. You’re always 10 steps ahead
Because you have multiple clients, multiple deadlines, multiple thoughts at once, you know what’s coming up in your schedule and what your client might need in the meantime. No we aren’t mind readers. We just like to be prepared for any event that could ever happen, ever. It’s really no biggie.
Overall being an Account Coordinator is an exciting job with a lot of moving parts, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world! For more information about our Account Coordinators, email info@theburnetteagency.com.
