2020 has been a whirlwind for businesses across the country but Facebook just made an announcement to help businesses during the holiday season.
For the first time, businesses will be able to run ads with product tags so individuals can shop the ad right through their Instagram account. Since 2016, consumers have been able to see a tag in a product on a regular Instagram post but companies haven’t been able to use those posts as ads. This is a huge integration for paid promotions and makes it so much easier for the consumer to shop on the spot.
A new discount feature for Facebook shops was also a part of Instagram’s announcement! If you have a Facebook shop, you are able to set up discounts in your commerce manager. You can put individual products on sale, create offers that are automatically applied, or offer a discount by letting customers add a promo code. Many are going to be looking for major deals this holiday season and to compete, having deals is a must.
