Instagram Layout mode was first tested back in August. Last week, Instagram officially launched its new Layout mode for Stories. It provides a range of grid display styles for still images within a single frame. Essentially you can now make a collage of pictures very easily.
To use Layout mode you first click on the camera in the far left-hand corner of your Instagram app. Then, you swipe left among your options and will see Layout mode. As you can see below you will be presented with 6 different collage options. You then click on one of the options and get snapping!
As you can see in the example below the Layout option, which will be among your Stories camera modes and provides a range of presentation styles to choose from which you can scroll through. These different grid styles provide new options for your Stories images.
With the holiday season approaching, it would not be surprising to see Instagram roll out a couple more of its 'in-testing' features to capitalize on higher app engagement.
